About the Owls
- FAU will be home this week after going on the road to Old Dominion and Charlotte last week. The Owls will be looking to skid a nine-game losing streak and six-game losing streak at home
- Through 17 games, Juliette Gauthier is the leading Owl scorer with 9.9 points per game. Myka Johnson Matthews is close behind, averaging 9.1 points. Abby Voss leads on the rebounding front, pulling down 6.3 boards per game. Jayla Adams has 35 assists on the season to lead the team
Last Time Out
- The Owls hit the road for the first time in 2019 last week at Old Dominion and Charlotte
- The Monarchs raced out to an early lead against the Owls and held on to it for the remainder of the game for the win. FAU played Charlotte close in the first quarter, down only three heading to the second but the 49ers dominated in the second quarter to build to build a lead
- Johnson Matthews led the Owls with 10 points against Old Dominion. Ra'Kyra Gabriel and Amber Gaston each pulled down five boards, but the Owls were outrebounded, 54-31
- An Achilles heel for the Owls this season has been turnovers, but FAU was able to take care of the ball against the Monarchs with a season-low 11 miscues
- Gaston was the leading scorer against Charlotte, tying her career high with 15 points. She also had seven rebounds, three blocks and an assist
- The Owls had six blocks in the game, which tied their season high
Series History
- Thursday's meeting will be the eighth meeting between FAU and Marshall in series history
- The Owls own a 5-3 record over the Thundering Herd and have won two straight in the series after sweeping Marshall last season
- FAU is 3-0 against Marshall in Boca Raton
Scouting Marshall
- The Thundering Herd raced out to a 2-0 start in Conference USA play with wins against
- Old Dominion and Charlotte in the first week, but fell to WKU last week, 85-55
- Marshall is led in scoring by Shayna Gore, who is averaging 17.8 points per game. That mark is fourth in C-USA
- Khadaijia Brooks is leading on the rebounding front, pulling down 6.4 boards per game

- Head Coach Jim will be talking everything basketball with fans before the game during 'Chalk Talk'
- Jabir will talk with fans 55 minutes prior to tip-off on the second floor of the Burrow and the event is open to the public
