Men's Soccer Match at FGCU Postponed

FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team traveled to Fort Myers on Tuesday to take on FGCU, but the match was unable to be played due to weather in the area.Â
As the players for both teams took the field for warm-ups, a lightning strike was detected in the area. Both teams went back to the locker rooms and waited out the delay. The teams were able to come back out and warm up, but more lightning struck as the National Anthem played. Once radars showed that the weather would not be moving out of the area for a while, coaches decided to call the game.
Both squads will try to find room in their schedules to make up the game at a later date.Â
The Owls will return home on Saturday to take on in-state foe Stetson. That match is set for 7 p.m.Â
