FAU Women's Basketball's Raven Doyle Earns C-USA Postgraduate Scholarship

BOCA RATON, Fla. â€" Florida Atlantic University women's basketball graduating senior Raven Doyle has received the 2018 Conference USA Jim Castañeda Postgraduate Scholarship, the league announced on Wednesday.
"This is a step towards my dream to finish my master's degree and I am honored to bethis year's recipient for FAU," Doyle said.
Doyle is a three-time recipient of the Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar Award and finished her undergraduate work with a 3.842 GPA in multimedia studies with a minor in art studio. She is on track to complete the MFA Media, Tech and Entertainment program by 2020.
On the court, Doyle left her mark at FAU as the ninth all-time leading rebounder with 474 boards in her career. She finished her senior season second on the team in field goal percentage and 11th in the conference in rebounding. Doyle ended the season on a tear, averaging 15 points and 12 rebounds over the last three games.
The conference awards the 14 scholarships annually to graduates selected by the C-USA Faculty Athletics Representatives and approved by the Board of Directors. The award is named after Dr. Castañeda, who served Rice University for 46 years as an educator, coach and Faculty Athletics Representative before he passed away in November 2008. This is the 10th year in which C-USA has given out the scholarships.
