NORFOLK, Va. -- The Florida Atlantic University women's tennis team got off to a great start in the quarterfinals of the Conference USA Tournament, but Middle Tennessee came back to take the match 4-3 on Friday.

- The Owls won the doubles point as No. 55 Aliona Bolsova/Jemi Aguilar beat MT's Kim Kermet/Luisa Zirilli 6-3
- Natalia Boltinskaya and Marisa Ruiz sealed the point for FAU with their 7-6(7-4) win against Costanza Magazzini and Josefina Zehnder
- Bolsova completed her perfect season with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Magazzini to move to 19-0 on the year
- Aguilar was then topped 6-2, 6-3 by Zirilli in the No. 6 slot as MT got on the board
- The Blue Raiders tied the match as Kermit beat Ruiz 6-1, 7-5
- JaCara Gillis put the Owls back on top in her 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 win against Lidia Burrows at No. 4 singles
- Jennifer Leib fell 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 to Lee Barnard
- Freshman Natalia Boltinskaya battled but fell 7-6, 6-4 to Zehnder as MT won the match to move on in the tournament
