BOCA RATON, Fla. - A fifth inning, two-run homerun was the difference in the Florida Atlantic University softball team's 2-1 loss to North Texas on Saturday. The Owls are now 20-18 overall and 8-4 in Conference USA play.
Key Plays
In the bottom of the first, Madisyn Palmer beat out an infield single, stole second, then advanced to third on a throwing error by the NT catcher. Tatum Buckley brought Palmer in with a sac bunt to put FAU up 1-0. Although both sides had opportunities to score, it wasn't until a two-run homerun from Mean Green catcher Nicole Ochotnicki in the top of the fifth that the score changed. FAU had runners reach in each of the final three innings, but couldn't capitalize.
