BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Freshman Ignacio Garcia won the deciding point as the Florida Atlantic University men's tennis team beat South Alabama 4-1 on Thursday.

"I am extremely happy about our team's performance," FAU Head Coach Ricardo Gonzalez said. "Today we won together as a team. We fought hard for every point and for each other. We were consistent with our actions throughout the entire match. We had great energy. And we held our composure in the big moments. We did all of this as a whole, which we have lacked in various matches in the past. We need to continue to build on this towards the last stretch of our season."

The Jaguars (11-7) won the doubles point despite Remi Chancerel and Gabriel Sidney winning their match 6-2 in No. 1 doubles
Thomas Bugeaud easily handled Maxime Lapraille 6-0, 6-0 in singles to tie the match
Jason Legall then beat Clement Marzol 6-2, 6-4 in No. 1 singles to put the Owls on top
Sidney improved to 13-5 with his 6-4, 6-4 victory over Sacha Modica
Garcia finished off the match with a 7-5, 7-6 (7-5) win against Lucas Gonzalez to hand the Owls their 13th win of the year
