Women's Tennis Dominates UTEP 6-1

BOCA RATON, Fla. -- The Florida Atlantic University women's tennis team took care of business in a 6-1 win over Conference USA rival UTEP on Thursday.
- The Owls won the doubles point as the duos of Natalia Boltinskaya/Jemi Aguilar and JaCara Gillis/Kristen Thoms each won their matches 6-1
- No. 6 Aliona Bolsova swept UTEP's Lois Wagenvoort 6-0, 6-0 to open singles play
- Senior Jennifer Leib then earned a 6-0, 6-3 victory over Chloe Purkiss
- Senior Marisa Ruiz followed in a 6-2, 6-0 win over Erandi Martinez in No. 3 singles
- Boltinskaya then topped Raven Bennett 6-2, 6-3 as the Owls clinched the match
- Gillis beat UTEP's Maria Paula Medina 6-3, 6-4
- The Miners got their lone point as Yvette Van Oijen fended off Kristen Thoms 1-6, 6-3, 10-6

The Owls host Columbia on Friday, March 16 at 10 a.m. at the FAU Tennis Complex. Admission is free to the public.
