Jalon of Men's Soccer Earns CoSIDA Academic All-District Honors

 BOCA RATON, Fla. – Hagay Jalon of the Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-District First Team, the organization announced on Thursday.

The All-District Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Members of the First Team advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot with the winners being announced in December.

This is the second academic award for Jalon this year. He also was named to the Conference USA All-Academic Team earlier this week.

Jalon holds a 3.87 GPA and is working towards a bachelor's degree in psychology. He's held the top GPA for the men's soccer program since joining the team and he serves as the team's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee representative. Community service is a focus for Jalon and he has served over 30 hours in the past year.

The Haifa, Israel native made 76 total saves and averaged 5.07 stops per game this season, leading C-USA and ranking top-15 nationally in both categories. He shut out two opponents this season which is the fifth most in the league
