Jalon Named to the C-USA All-Academic Team

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Hagay Jalon of the Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team has been named to the InTouch Credit Union Conference USA All-Academic Team. Jalon is one of just eleven players on the team.
"I'm very happy for Hagay to have his hard work recognized with this award," said head coach Joey Worthen. "He's a captain and leader of our team both on and off the field. He does an excellent job in the classroom. He's one of the most mature players I've ever coached. I'm happy for him to be able to receive this award."
The Haifa, Israel native is working towards a bachelor's degree in psychology and has held the top GPA on the men's soccer team since arriving on campus. Jalon serves as the team's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee representative and has been heavily involved in community service, logging over 30 hours since last fall.
On the pitch, Jalon played in every game for the Owls this season. His 76 total saves and 5.07 saves per game lead C-USA and are top-15 nationally. His two shutouts on the season are tied for the fifth most in the league.
Jalon and the men's soccer team ended the season at Marshall last Saturday. The Owls will be back in action throughout the spring.
