Volleyball Beats Middle Tennessee on Senior Day

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University volleyball team overcame a first set slipup to defeat Middle Tennessee in four sets (24-26, 30-28, 25-13, 25-15) on Sunday in their final home match of the year. The victory extended FAU's school-record home winning streak to 15. The Owls finish the regular season with an overall record of 21-6 and 11-3 in Conference USA play.

- The Blue Raiders led by four, 14-10, in the first set when FAU went on a 5-1 scoring spurt to even the score at 15
- There were five more ties in the set, one coming in the midst of a 4-0 Blue Raider run to take the set, 26-24Â

- Massiel Matos had a match-high 20 kills to go along with 13 digs for her 12th double-double of the season
- Cailea Gibbs posted a career-high 16 kills, while Jordan Yauch chipped in with 11 for the Owls
- Ivone Martinez dished out 57 assists, giving her 3,424 for her career. That total passes Jeana Boyle for second place in program history

The Owls will be the No. 4 seed for the upcoming C-USA Championship in Huntington, West Virginia, and will play fifth-seeded North Texas in their first round match at 2 p.m. Eastern on Friday, Nov. 16. The match will air on ESPN+.
