Final Stats

Huntington, W.Va. - Florida Atlantic University's softball team lost both games of its doubleheader against Marshall on Sunday. The Owls lost game one 6-3 and the second game 2-0. FAU is now 25-15 on the year and 7-5 in Conference USA play.

Game 1 Highlights

Emily Lochten hit a two run homer

Key Plays

In the top of the third inning, the Owls were the first ones on the board, scoring two runs on Lochten's homer to center field, also bringing in Palmer. In the next inning, FAU scored another run but Marshall answered back with four runs of their own to take a 4-3 lead. The Thundering Herd scored two more runs in the bottom of the sixth and held the Owls scoreless to close out the game.

Key Plays

Marshall hit a homerun in the second inning to take a 1-0 lead and scored another run in the bottom of the fifth for the only other run of the game. The Owls had 10 hits but they couldn't get anyone to reach home plate, leaving 12 on base in the process.
