BOCA RATON, Fla. - (Feb. 10, 2017) - Florida Atlantic University's softball team split its two games at the FAU Kick Off Classic on Friday, beat NC State 2-0 but losing to Boston University 3-1.

The two teams will be back in action on Saturday in the Owls' first tournament of the year, the Kick-off Classic, featuring: FAU, UNF, Bethune-Cookman, Boston University, Michigan State, NC State, and Troy.

Game 1 Highlights

Tatum Buckley and Amanda Peck went 2-for-3
Emily Lochten singled and scored
Alex Miller had an RBI single
Kylee Hanson had a complete game four hitter

Key Plays

Lochten led off the bottom of the first with a single before stealing second and scoring on a Wolfpack wild pitch. Alex Miller followed with a single that drove in Madisyn Palmer, accounting for the only runs of the game.

Key Plays

Lochen reached on a base hit and then stole second, third, and home to put the owls up 1-0 in the first inning. Amanda Wilson held off the Terriers until the bottom of the seventh, when they scored three unearned runs to take the lead. The Owls went in order in the bottom of the inning to end the game.
