BOCA RATON , Fla. - The Florida Atlantic University volleyball team kept its winning ways going with a sweep of Marshall (25-15, 25-20, 25-23) on Sunday. The Owls have now won four matches in a row and are 15-7 on the season and 6-4 in Conference USA play.

Key Plays

FAU steadily built a lead throughout the early portion of the first set and eventually pulled away late to take a 25-15 win. In the second stanza, the Thundering Herd (9-16, 4-6) was much more competitive from the start before an 8-2 FAU run helped create what proved to be an insurmountable margin. Marshall held a 10-8 lead in the third frame but FAU soon rallied to take the lead. The Owls led 24-20 late, but the Herd was able to fight off three match points before a service error ended the match.

Notables

Sydney Nemtuda led all players with 18 kills, finishing one shy of her career high. She also added three total blocks.
Abbi Reid posted 10 kills and two blocks.
Alex Cardona tallied 14 digs to lead the Owls.
Ivone Martinez dished out 43 assists and had 11 digs for her team best eighth double-double of the season.
