Hitpass and Drinkwater Named FAU Players of the Week

BOCA RATON, Fla. - Soccer goalkeepers Phillip Hitpass and Sydney Drinkwater had strong weekends on the pitch and have been named the Florida Atlantic University Department of Athletics Male and Female Athletes of the week.
Hitpass recorded six saves and allowed just one goal in the Owls' 1-0 loss to South Carolina. On the season, the senior keeper from Hamminkeln, Germany has a 0.97 goals against average, allowing three goals and recording 12 saves in 371:25 minutes of work.
Drinkwater, a senior keeper from Merritt Island, Fla., led the Owls in two shutout performances. The first, a 3-0 victory over St. Bonaventure, and the second in the Conference USA opener versus in-state rival FIU. Drinkwater holds a 0.67 goals against average in the nine 2016 matches she has played. She has recorded 37 saves in 793:09 minutes.
Both teams will travel this weekend. The men's team will be at FGCU at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 20 and will travel to Marshall for a noon Sunday, Sept. 25 contest. The women's team has one contest this weekend with a Friday, Sept. 23 trip to Old Dominion. The match is scheduled for 7 p.m. start.
