BOCA RATON, Fla. â€" Florida Atlantic women's tennis hosted Hillsdale College on Tuesday and came away with a 7-0 win. The Owls swept both the doubles and singles portion of the match for the third time this season. The Owls now 10-6 on the season, have won three consecutive matches.
FAU won the doubles point early in the match by sweeping all three positions. FA U continued their success in singles by easily winning at every position. FAU won handily not giving up more than four games in any set. FAU junior Bianca Biglione won her third consecutive match defeating Dana Grace Buck 6-1, 6-2. Biglione is 14-3 on season and leads the team in wins. FAU sophomore Marisa Ruiz, also on a three game winning streak, defeated Madeline Bissett 6-1, 6-3. Ruiz is 10-7 on the season. FAU juniors Heather Walton and Ana Gutierrez both reached double digit wins with victories today. Walton defeated Lindsay Peirce 6-1, 6-2 and Gutierrez defeated Halle Hyman 6-2, 6-2. FAU sophomore Jennifer Leib defeated Sydney Delp 6-2, 6-4 for her second consecutive win.
FAU returns to the court Wednesday March 23, at 1 p.m. against Rhode Island at home at Patch Reef Park.
