MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - (Feb. 4, 2016) - Despite Ronald Delph's second career double-double, the Florida Atlantic University men's basketball team lost to Middle Tennessee 85-73 on Thursday night.
The Turning Point
Marquan Botley hit a three-pointer to pull the Owls (6-17, 4-6 Conference USA) within nine, 75-66, with 4:25 left in the game. Middle Tennessee (16-6, 8-2) scored six of the next eight points to secure the win.
Notables
Delph scored a career-high 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for his second career double-double. Adonis Filer just missed a double-double with 11 points and career-high tying nine rebounds.
Marquan Botley made four three-pointers as part of his 14-point night. Botley has now made 142 triples in his FAU career, good for eighth all-time in school history.
Solomon Poole had 11 points, giving FAU four players in double-figures.
The Owls have now lost eight in a row to Middle Tennessee, dating back to Jan. 27, 2011.
FAU overcame a 23-13 rebound margin at the half to outrebound the Blue Raiders by one, 39-38. MT had a 21-5 points off turnovers edge.
