BOCA RATON, Fla. - Florida Atlantic men's tennis welcomed UT Arlington to Boca Raton and handed the Mavericks a 4-2 loss. The Owls improved to 5-5 on the season with the win. FAU dropped the doubles point losing both the No. 1 and 2 positions, but rebounded by winning positions 1-4 in singles to win the match.
FAU sophomore Remi Chancerel defeated Johnathan Gonzalez 7-5, 6-4 in the No. 1 position to improve to 7-2 on the season. FAU sophomore Zandrix Acob won his team leading eighth match, fifth in a row, by defeating Carlos Arbiza 6-4, 6-4. FAU's Jaoa Gauer defeated Guanarteme Nuez 1-6, 6-1, 6-3 and fau sophomore Alexander Gitin defeated Mario Muniesa 6-7 (3-7), 6-3, 6-1.
FAU returns to action Thursday March 3, at 1 p.m. at home at Patch Reef Park against Davidson.
