The Florida Atlantic University women's golf finished the second round in 12th place after at the FGCU Eagle Invitational on Saturday.
The three-day, 54-hole tournament is being played at the Stoneybrook Golf Club in Ft. Myers, Fla. The course is a par 72 with a total yardage of 6,135.
Heather Netti, who is competing individually for FAU was tied for 26th after shooting six-over 78 in round one, is now leading the way for FAU following round two. The junior finished 36 holes of golf and is tied for 29th place after shooting a five-over 77.
Sophomore Kadi Pallastrone who tied for 12th after round one, is now tied for 32nd after shooting an 80 in round two. Tai Barber finished the day tied for 47th after shooting eight-over 80 with a birdie on the par four sixth hole.
Daniella Castaneda after finishing round round one in 57th place, is in now in 50th place improving from an 81 to an 79 on the second day of play. The sophomore had a three birdies on the day, coming on the second, sixth and ninth holes.
Senior Christina Langer came in tied for 62nd with nine-over 81 after finishing the first day in 64th. Freshman Emily Faulkner rounded out the group tied for 73rd. The team total is 638 after two rounds, while the tournament leader Mercer has a total score of 594.
Head Coach Kathy Baker-Guadagnino had this to say regarding the girls round today, "The girls seem to be having difficulty on the back nine and the greens are proving a little difficult to read. Inspite of their difficulties, I am proud of the team for finishing strong on the front nine along with their respective back nines. Despite our struggles, we are still roughly 60 strokes ahead of where we were last year at this point. I still believe we can break 310 tomorrow and hopefully move up on the field."
The final round of the FGCU Eagle Invitational will kick off on Sunday, Feb. 14 at 8 a.m. Live scoring can be viewed on birdiefire.com.
