EL PASO, TEXAS - (November 6, 2016) - The Florida Atlantic University volleyball team lost to UTEP in four sets (25-19, 25-20, 14-25, 25-22) on Sunday. The loss was the third in a row for the Owls, who are now 13-13 overall and 8-4 in Conference USA matches.

Trailing 12-5 in the first set, FAU went on a 10-6 run to pull to within three at 18-15. However, the Miners (7-19, 5-8) held off the rally to win the frame. UTEP got out to an early 6-2 lead in set number two and maintained a comfortable margin throughout as it took a 2-0 lead. In the third set, it was FAU's turn to get out to an early advantage, going up 9-2. The Owls were never seriously threatened and trim their deficit in half. Set number four fell into a pattern of UTEP taking a lead and the FAU fighting its way back into contention, ultimately, the final FAU rally fell short and UTEP won the set and the match.
