CHARLOTTE, N.C. â€" The Florida Atlantic University men's soccer team suffered a 4-0 loss at No. 8 Charlotte on Saturday, but still has its postseason hopes alive with one match remaining in the regular season.
Notables
- Senior goalkeeper Phillip Hitpass made seven saves on the night, facing a barrage of 23 shots by the 49ers
- Carlos Sanchis placed a shot on goal while Cameron Neal and Daniel Del Rio also took shots
- Hitpass tallied five first-half saves before a shot by Maclean Holbrook off a rebound slipped by for Charlotte's first goal
- Charlotte's top scorer Brandt Bronico scored on a penalty kick following a tackle in the box to double the lead in the 58th minute
- Charlotte tacked on back-to-back goals in the 62nd and 63rd minutes to ice the contest
