Owls Earn C-USA Tournament Bid with Sweep of FIU

BOCA RATON, Fla. - (October 28, 2016) - The Florida Atlantic University volleyball team clinched a spot in the C-USA Tournament with a sweep (25-18, 25-11, 25-15) of rival FIU on Friday. FAU will play in the C-USA Tournament for the fourth consecutive season. The Owls won their eighth straight match to improve to 13-10 on the season and 8-1 in C-USA play.

- Abbi Reid had a match high 13 kills, her 11th double-digit kill match of the season and fifth in a row.

Key Plays
The first set was tied at 10 when the Owls went on a 6-0 run to take control of the frame. The lead remained at least four the rest of the set. In set number two, it was a 10-1 run that proved decisive as FAU won 25-11 to take a 2-0 lead at the break. Reid's serving helped the Owls build an early lead in the third set. The Panthers (8-16, 2-8) rallied to within three at 18-15, but FAU closed on a 7-0 run to take the match.
