Volleyball Sweeps Louisiana Tech to Extend Winning Streak to Six

BOCA RATON, Fla. - (October 21, 2016) - The Florida Atlantic University volleyball team swept Louisiana Tech (25-15, 25-12, 25-20) on Friday night. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Owls. FAU improves to 11-10 on the season and 6-1 in conference play, while Louisiana Tech fell to 10-14 and 1-7 in C-USA.

- FAU held Louisiana Tech to .131 hitting on the night, the 11th time an opponent has hit .200 or lower.
- At 6-1, the Owls are off to their best start in conference play since 2005, when they were members of the Atlantic Sun.
- Maja Ristic led all players with 15 kills.
- Abbi Reid had 13 kills in the match and hit .556. It is Reid's ninth double-digit kill match of the season.
- Genesis Viera registered 42 assists and five digs.
- Nathalie Rosado had 14 digs for the Owls.
Key Plays
The Owls led 9-8 in the first set, then closed on a 16-7 run to take the frame. Nathalie Rosado and Dena Tekavec each had long serving runs to put FAU up 17-4 in the second set. From there, the Owls coasted to a 25-12 victory headed to the intermission. After a Lady Techster kill, cut FAU's lead to 9-7 in the third, four different Owls contributed kills during a 11-6 run that helped seal the win.
