Key Plays

In the second set, it was a 4-1 FAU run that built an early cushion. North Texas (10-12, 4-3) never got closer than three points the rest of the way and the Owls headed to the intermission with a 2-0 lead. When play resumed, the Mean Green made it clear that FAU would have to earn the victory. North Texas led 21-17 late in the third set, but the Owls rallied to within a point, 23-22. An NT kill and block cut the Owls' lead in half. A Ristic kill held off one set point in the fourth, but North Texas capitalized on the next point, forcing the fifth set. That fifth set featured several momentum changes, as FAU built an 11-4 lead, before the Mean Green rallied to within 13-12. Ristic then stepped up and delivered a kill, and after a North Texas kill, she teamed with Reid for the match winning block.
