BOCA RATON, Fla. - (Jan. 30, 2016) - The Florida Atlantic University men's basketball team had to hold off a furious rally late in the game to defeat Charlotte 82-77 on Saturday. The win was the fourth in six games for the Owls.
The Turning Point
After a 49er layup cut what had been a 17 point FAU (6-16, 4-5 Conference USA) lead to just five with 1:45 to play, the Owls made 11-of-12 free throws down the stretch to seal the win.
Notables
• Adonis Filer led the five FAU players in double figures with 18 points. He pulled down seven rebounds to lead the team in that category as well.
• Marquan Botley had a season high 15 points to go along with three assists.
• Joseph Uchebo led the 49ers (7-14, 4-5) with 20 points and 13 rebounds for a double-double.

• Ronald Delph matched his career high with five blocks on the day.
Quotables
Head Coach Michael Curry
On Ronald Delph - "We put a lot of demands on Ronald, but at the same time we have to understand that he's just 12 or so games into his college career."
On the team - "We've been working really hard in practice and as a result, we are playing with a lot more confidence, but that's also a by-product of winning."
