The Florida Atlantic University women's golf team opened its 2015-16 season on Saturday in the Lady Falcon Invitational hosted by Daytona State College. After one day of competition, the Owls are in sixth place with a team total of 328.
The tournament is being played at the LPGA International Club in Daytona Beach, Fla, a par 72 course with a total yardage of 6,117. The seven team invitational features Daytona State College, Seminole State, Florida Southern, University of Tampa, Embry-Riddle, and Thomas University.
Sophomore, Tai Barber was FAU's top finisher in the first round shooting six-over 78 to tie for 10th place. Kadi Pallastrone and Arielle Roberts followed finishing an eight-over 80 to tie for 17th.
Both Emily Faulkner and Heather Netti shot nine-over 81 to finish the first day in 24th place with sophomore Danielle Castanedaclose behind finishing 14-over 86 for 34th. Senior Christina Langer and freshman Jennica Long rounded out the team 14-over 86 for 34st place.
The second day of the Lady Falcon Invitational kicked off at 8 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 20.
