Seth McGarry Drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates

BOCA RATON, Fla - The Pittsburgh Pirates selected Florida Atlantic University junior right-handed pitcher Seth McGarry with the 247th overall pick (eighth round) of the 2015 Major League Baseball Draft.
"What an accomplishment for Seth," said John McCormack, FAU's head baseball coach. "He overcame a number of obstacles to get to today, his hard work and perseverance paid off, I am so proud of him."
McGarry led FAU's regular bullpen with a 2.25 ERA in 40 innings this past season, the seventh-best single-season ERA in FAU history. He also won four games and recorded five saves in 21 appearances and struck out a career-high seven batters in three innings against Middle Tennessee on March 21.
In 58.1 career innings as an Owl, McGarry posted a 6-2 record with five saves. He struck out 56 and held opponents to a .243 batting average during his three-year career.
The Owls finished the 2015 season 42-19 and, ranked as high as No. 12 nationally and made their 11th NCAA postseason appearance. McGarryis the 15th player selected in the MLB draft since McCormack became the head coach in 2009.
