Owls Host Charlotte for Pivotal Series

BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Florida Atlantic University softball team will host a weekend series versus Charlotte this Saturday and Sunday.
The Owls (26-14-1, 7-5 C-USA) lost four of the five games on their recent road trip to the state of Kentucky. FAU lost two of three to Western Kentucky last weekend and then dropped a doubleheader to #13 Kentucky on Monday afternoon.
This weekend's series will loom large in the conference standings. Charlotte (20-16, 7-5) is tied with FAU for second place in Conference USA's East division. The 49ers had won five in a row before losing their series finale to Middle Tennessee on Saturday.
FAU was on the verge of sweeping last season's series before a walkoff homerun helped Charlotte take the final game. Christina Martinez went 6-for-11 in the three game set.
