Amanda Wilson Named Conference USA Pitcher of the Week

BOCA RATON, Fla. - Florida Atlantic University softball player Amanda Wilson was named Conference USA Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced Monday. It is the second time this season and third time in her career she has won the award.
Wilson, who was a C-USA All-Freshman team member last season, made two appearances over the weekend. She continued a strong sophomore campaign throwing a complete game, four-hit shutout against Bethune-Cookman on Saturday. Wilson struck out six in the 7-0 victory. She ended the weekend by tossing an 11-inning complete game versus Hofstra on Sunday. Wilson struck out 12 and allowed only three earned runs in the contest, which ended in a 5-5 tie.
The Owls will face Florida State on Tuesday night before traveling to Louisiana Tech to start conference play this weekend. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. on Tuesday. Live stats will be available at fausports.com. For tickets, call the FAU Ticket Office at 1-866-FAU-OWLS.
