Sand Volleyball Drops Two at UNF Sand Invitational

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - The Florida Atlantic University sand volleyball team lost both of its matches at the UNF Sand Invitational on Sunday.
The Owls lost to Georgia State 5-0 in their first match on Sunday. The most competitive matchup was at no. 1, where Beth Shoaff and Mandi Mcintosh lost 21-16, 21-19.
FAU dropped a 5-0 decision to South Carolina in its second match of the day. Shoaff and McIntosh lost a hard fought match at no. 1 with a pair of 21-17 scores. At no. 2, Andrea Galinis and Brittany Pellitteri came up just short, losing both sets 21-18. Delaney Clesen and Alyssa Warren almost forced a decisive third set at no. 4, but were tripped up 25-23.
FAU will take some time off before hosting Florida Gulf Coast on Tuesday, March 24. The match will be held on Deerfield Beach and will start at 4 p.m.
