Owls Face Pair of Lonestar State Showdowns

BOCA RATON, Fla. -- The Florida Atlantic University women's basketball team will travel to face Conference USA foe UTEP on Thursday, Feb. 5 and UTSA on Sunday, Feb. 8 in a nationally-televised game.
The Owls (10-9, 4-4 C-USA) made a C-USA record 20 three-pointers in a 98-62 victory over UTEP in Boca Raton on March 5, 2014 in the first ever meeting between the two programs. This season, the Owls return players who combined for ten of those 98 points, led by Morgan Robinson's five points.
The Miners sit at 8-10 on the year and 3-6 in C-USA play. Tipoff in El Paso is slated for 9 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. MT at the Don Haskins Center. Live audio will be provided on FAUSports.com.
Sunday's contest will be carried live on Fox Sports as FAU returns to the Convocation Center in San Antonio for a noon ET tipoff. The Owls topped UTSA 71-69 last season on March 1 behind the seven points and eight rebounds by then-freshman Shaneese Bailey.
The Roadrunners enter the contest with a record of 9-12 and sit just behind FAU in the conference standings at 4-5. Ron Thulin and Nancy Leiberman will have the call on the Fox Sports Networks.
