Softball to Host FAU Invitational

BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Florida Atlantic University softball team will return to the field this weekend to host the FAU Invitational. The tournament will feature Albany, North Florida, Florida A&M, and Princeton. It will be the Owls' third weekend in a row hosting a tournament to begin the season.
The Owls are 9-1 so far this season, including a 5-0 record at last weekend's Strike Out Cancer Tournament. Sophomore Amanda Wilson was named Conference USA Pitcher of the Week for her efforts. Head Coach Joan Joyce is one win away from 800 for her head coaching career.
FAU will play Florida A&M and Princeton in their two games on Friday. The Tigers will play their first games of the season this weekend. Albany and North Florida will provide the opposition on Saturday. The Great Danes will open their 2015 campaign at the tournament. UNF (7-2) split its four games last weekend.
