Softball Receives Votes in NFCA Poll

BOCA RATON, Fla. - On the strength of its best start since 1998, the Florida Atlantic University softball team received votes in the most recent National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) poll.
The Owls are 9-1, including a 5-0 record in last weekend's Strike Out Cancer Tournament. Sophomore Amanda Wilson was named Conference USA Pitcher of the Week for her efforts.
Four FAU opponents are in the most recent top 25. This season the Owls will face No. 9 Florida State, No. 11 Kentucky, No.14 LSU and UCF, who is tied for No. 19. Both Tulsa and Kansas, who the Owls have already faced, received votes in this week's poll.
The Owls will host the FAU Invitational this weekend and will play their first game against Florida A&M at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. Live stats will be available at fausports.com. For tickets, call the FAU Ticket Office at 1-866-FAU-OWLS.
