After two rounds of play, the Florida Atlantic University men's golf team shared the seventh-place position with Dayton after losing the second round to Seton Hall on a tiebreaker.
The two-day event, hosted by Ball State University, was held at the Lake Jovita Golf Course and featured players from Eastern Michigan, Miami University, Toledo, Seton Hall, Dayton, and Ohio. FAU tied Eastern Michigan 3-3 in the first round, but the tiebreaker went to the Eagles as they had more total holes won.
After winning his first round, sophomore Caleb Sibley went on to defeat Seton Hall's Cory Wilson. Connor O'Rourke also won his second round against the Pirates' J.T. Harper. Senior Pablo Gerboles-Parrilla convincingly took down his opponent by six strokes in round two. FAU tied Seton Hall 3-3 but lost on a tiebreaker as the Pirates had more holes won during the round.
Eastern Michigan and Toledo were named co-champions after both winning round two 4-2 against Ball State and Miami (OH), respectively.
The Owls will participate in the Hartford Invitational on Tuesday, Feb, 24 in Plantation, Fla. where they will face Hartford, Stetson and Bethune-Cookman.
