Men's Golf One Stroke Behind Villanova After First Round

LAKE WORTH, Fla. -

The Florida Atlantic University men's golf team finished the first round of 18 holes one stroke behind Villanova on Monday. The team total was 300 with Tyler Bricker, Roman Cenizal, and Cody Christensen the top performers all tying for third after each shooting 73.

In his second appearance of the season, freshman Chris Thomas was the next finisher tying for sixth with a season-low round of 74. Junior Derron Peyton followed in eighth shooting a 75.

Also finishing in the top 10 was Luke Campbell, Michael Perez and team captain Morgan Hill. The three Owls tied for ninth each shooting a 76.

The final three players, Caleb Sibley, Pablo Gerboles-Parrilla, and Connor O'Rourke, tied for 12th place with 77 in round one.

The teams are playing at the Fountains Country Club in Lake Worth, Fla. The course is a par 72 with a yardage of 6,783. Complete results from the first round can be found here. Round two will begin on Tuesday morning, March 3.
