BOCA RATON, Fla. -The Florida Atlantic University men's basketball team rallied from a 14-point first half deficit, but was unable to maintain the momentum, losing to Tennessee Martin 57-48 on Tuesday. FAU fell to 2-11 with the loss, while UT-Martin upped its record to 7-7.
The Turning Point
Jackson Trapp nailed a three-pointer to put the Owls up 33-32 just over four minutes into the second half, but the Skyhawks responded with an 11-2 run in the next 4:38 to regain a lead they wouldn't relinquish.
Notables
• Adonis Filer led the Owls with 17 points. Jeantal Cylla added 12 points. Both Filer and Cylla narrowly missed double-doubles, as they each pulled down nine rebounds.
• Ronald Delph had a game high 12 rebounds to go along with eight points.
• Twymond Howard and Myles Taylor each had 19 points to lead UT-Martin. Howard also added 10 rebounds for a double-double.
• Nick Rutherford had five assists for the second game in a row.
