BOCA RATON, Fla. -- The Florida Atlantic University baseball team will have a new look by the end of the month as the Owls participate in No Shave November to raise funds for the Lynn Cancer Institute at Boca Raton Regional Hospital.
"Cancer has touched almost everyone and the guys are going to help raise awareness of this disease," FAU Head Coach John McCormack said. "While they are doing, that we are going to have some fun with the best beard contest. I hope people will get behind us in this very good cause."
FAU players will be accepting donations, as well as making donations of their own, throughout the month of November. The Owls will ditch their razors to raise awareness for cancer research, and fans will have the opportunity to vote on which player grew the best beard at the end of the month on twitter by following @fau_baseball.
To help the Owls in their fundraising efforts, contact Coach McCormack at jmccorma@fau.edu or find an FAU Baseball player around campus to donate. Any amount is accepted and appreciated and will go toward helping cancer patients and their families through their difficult journeys.
