Owls Fall Victim to Hot Shooting Lipscomb, 79-65

OXFORD, Ohio - Lipscomb used a 51.9 shooting percent from the floor to defeat the Florida Atlantic University men's basketball team 79-65 on Sunday. It was the Owls' final game at the Men Against Breast Cancer Challenge.
The Owls (1-4) led 15-8 nine minutes into the game, when the Bison (3-4) closed the half on a 24-8 run to go into the locker room up 32-23.
Lipscomb's accuracy continued in the second half, as the lead stretched to as many as 19. FAU scored 42 of their 65 points after intermission, but were unable to ever seriously threaten the Bison.
Adonis Filer led all scorers with 18 points, while Nick Rutherford added 10 points to go along with four assists and three steals.
