Ali Gorrell Named C-USA Player of the Week

BOCA RATON, Fla. â€" Florida Atlantic University senior Ali Gorrell was named the first Conference USA Women's Basketball Player of the Week of the 2015-16 season after a dominating performance in the season opener against Akron.
The guard posted 26 points, nine assists, five rebounds and zero turnovers in FAU's 91-77 victory. Eighteen of her points came in the fourth quarter, a period in which she out-scored the entire Akron squad by four points. Gorrell scored 11 straight to open the fourth, going 5-of-7 from the field and 7-of-7 from the free throw line.
The Colorado native also received the same honor from CollegeSportsMadness.com.
The Owls go on the road to face FGCU on Tuesday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. The game will be carried on ESPN3 and live audio is available on FAUSports.com.
