The Owls downed Barry University 79-64 in an exhibition on Saturday, Nov. 7. Kat Wright led FAU with 18 points while Ali Gorrell posted a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds.
Last time out for Akron:
Akron topped Clairon 79-50 in its exhibition matchup, led by Anita Brown's 23 points.
Series History:
The Owls and Zips have met twice, with FAU winning the first contest in Boca Raton in 2006 and the Zips winning in Akron in 2013. Kat Wright and Morgan Robinson are the only two Owls who played against Akron in the 2013 matchup.
Game Notes:
FAU welcomes four new faces on the court this season, including freshman Ra'Kyra Gabriel, redshirt freshman Ro Hayes, and sophomores Nika Zyryanova and Halee Davis. FAU boasts two seniors in Morgan Robinson and Ali Gorrell and one junior in Kat Wright. The Owls also return sophomores Sasha Cedeno, Danneal Ford, Malia Kency, and Melinda Myers.
