Men's Tennis Continues Fall Schedule in Gainesville

BOCA RATON, Fla. - Florida Atlantic men's tennis traveled to Gainesville, FL to compete in the USTA/ITA Southeast Regional over the weekend. Nine FAU players traveled to the Gainesville to compete in the 64-spot field. The tournament field consisted of 16 teams throughout Georgia and Florida.

FAU sophomore Ignacio Jimenez played his way into the main draw winning his first two matches in the qualifying round defeating Espinosa of FAMU, 6-4, 6-3 and Yun of Georgia Tech 6-4, 1-6, 6-2. FAU senior Andrei Morin-Kougoucheff won his first match in the round of 64 defeating Ventura of FGCU 6-3, 6-1.

The Owls continue their fall season with a match against Barry University on October 24, in Miami.
