UAB scored the first five points out of the break to stretch the run to 12-0 and a take 37-30 advantage. At that point, the game became a stalemate as of each team strung together a pair of scores, followed by the other responding in kind. A pair of free throws put the Blazers up 52-44 at the nine minute mark. FAU then went on a 13-4 run, ending on a Javier Lacunza three-pointer, to go ahead 57-56 with 3:23 to go in the game.
