JACKSONVILLE, FL - Senior Danielle Aromashodu concluded her Florida Atlantic University career today at the 2014 NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field East Preliminary Championships. The UNF Ospreys hosted the preliminary round at Hodges Stadium.
Aromashodu competed in the 400 meter hurdles at her fourth appearance at the East Championships. She crossed the finish line in 34th place with a final time of 59.96. The Miami native missed qualifying for the quarterfinals by 0.77 seconds.
In her freshman season, Aromashodu ran the 400 hurdles in a time of 1:01.61 at her first NCAA regional competition. When she returned the following year, she improved her finish clocking in at 1:00.54. Last year, Aromashodu recorded her best finish at an NCAA championship with a final time of 59:38, just 0.34 seconds short of qualifying for the quarterfinals.

Aromashodu served as team captain in her final season with the Owls. She holds the FAU record in the 400 hurdles (58.33) and was a three-time Sun Belt Conference Champion in the event. At the Department of Athletics' annual banquet, Aromashodu was named the "Outstanding Female Athlete" for the 2013-14 athletic season.
