Baseball Announces 2015 Schedule

BOCA RATON, Fla. - Florida Atlantic University Baseball Head Coach John McCormack has announced the team's 2015 schedule which features 35 home games and 30 games against Conference USA rivals.
The challenging schedule pits FAU against five teams that made the NCAA Regionals in 2014 - Florida, Bethune Cookman, Miami, Old Dominion and Rice.
"I like the diversity of the schedule," McCormack said. "As we enter our second year in C-USA, we will play 30 games within the conference. The remainder of the schedule will be against the SEC, ACC, AAC, Big 10, A-Sun, and MAAC."
The Owls open the year as hosts in their first 18 games. The season kicks off with a three-game home series against the University of Connecticut starting on Friday, Feb. 13, 2015. From there, the Owls host the University of Miami and Ohio State University before facing the University of Florida at Rodger Dean Stadium in Jupiter on Tuesday, Feb. 24.
Another three-game series against Monmouth University follows beginning on Friday, Feb. 27 before North Florida, Rutgers and Illinois State. The home stand wraps up with a matchup against North Carolina State on Wednesday, Feb. 11.
"The schedule is front loaded with our first 17 of 18 games at home and that will be a great opportunity for our fans to really get involved in the season early," McCormack said. "We are looking forward to the challenge of the 15 schedule."
FAU then embarks on its second season in C-USA with its first of five conference road trips to face Charlotte in three games starting on Friday, March 13.
The Owls also will travel to UTSA, Southern Miss, UAB and Western Kentucky. FAU hosts Middle Tennessee, Marshall University, Old Dominion and will round out its home season with a series against defending C-USA champion Rice on Friday, May 8 through Sunday, May 10.
FAU's other nonconference matchups include games at UCF, Miami, and Florida Gulf Coast University. The Owls also host Bethune Cookman and UCF in non-conference action in May.
