Stepanovic and Whittaker Chosen as FAU Players of the Week

Florida Atlantic University volleyball's Katarina Stepanovic and men's soccer's Ramon Whittaker have earned player of the week honors for helping lead their teams to victory over the weekend.
After picking up 10 blocks in two matches, including six against Western Kentucky, Stepanovic was named the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week. In Friday's match against UAB, Stepanovic finished with four block assists and nine kills. On the season, the junior has amassed 49 blocks and is ranked first in the conference with a .409 hitting percentage. Stepanovic is the first FAU volleyball player to earn a weekly conference award in nearly eight years. FAU is now 12-6 overall and 3-2 in conference play.
Senior Ramon Whittaker would come up with his second goal of the year in the 60th minute to bring FAU up by two in its match against conference opponent Marshall. Whittaker would follow up with another goal in the 64th minute assisted by Daniel Montoya to take FAU to its final score of 3-0. The Owls are now 5-2-1 and 1-0-1 in conference play.
Volleyball will travel to Charlotte, N.C. to face the Charlotte 49ers on Sunday, Oct. 12 at 1 p.m. Men's soccer will face two conference opponents this week starting with the University of New Mexico at home in Boca Raton on Wednesday, Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. The team will then travel to Norfolk, Va. to take on Old Dominion on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m.
