Boca Raton, FL - The Florida Atlantic University men's tennis team played nationally ranked Indiana University competitively, but dropped a 7-0 match on Wednesday, March 13 at Patch Reef Park.
Sophomore Robert Dubuque fell in a hard-fought, three-set match to Indiana's Elliott Yee at No. 5 singles. Dubuque won the opening set 6-3, but Yee responded with a 6-3 triumph to force the deciding set. In that third set, Dubuque lost in a tiebreaker 9-7 after both players had battled to each win six games.
Freshman Andrei Morin-Kougoucheff lost a first-set tiebreaker 7-4 and fell in a competitive second set 7-5 at No. 3 singles. Sophomore Sean Bacha also dropped a first-set tiebreaker 7-4 in losing his No. 4 singles match.
In doubles, the tandem of senior Jose Fantova and sophomore Will Neuner battled Indiana's top team of Sam Monette and Isade Juneau before losing the tiebreaker 9-7. FAU returns to the court on Friday, March 15 at 2 p.m. against the University at Buffalo from Patch Reef Park.
