Women's Basketball Downs Vikings 81-78

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Senior Chenise Miller blocked a three-point attempt at the buzzer to seal the win for Florida Atlantic University's women's basketball team over Cleveland State on Saturday. The Owls topped the host Vikings (1-3) 81-78 to improve their winning streak to three games.
Miller led FAU with 18 points and tied her career-high with 14 rebounds, eleven of which were on the defensive end, for her second-consecutive double-double. Shanequa Schrouder scored 13 points, one shy of her career-high, and grabbed five rebounds. Kimberly Smith and Aaliyah Dotson scored 10 points each each.
FAU (3-1) led by six at the four-minute mark of the first half, but CSU went on a 9-2 run to end the half with a two-point lead. Katherine Wright and Dotson drained three-consecutive three-pointers midway through the second half to tie the game for the seventh time.
The Owls would go on an 8-0 run with less than four minutes to play to take a four-point lead with 1:15 to play.
CSU's top scorer Kiersten Green made a layup with :55 left to pull within two, but Smith hit a free throw to give the Owls a three-point lead with :18 on the clock.
FAU returns home to open the FAU Thanksgiving Tournament with a home game on Nov. 29 against Georgia Southern. Tipoff is slated for noon at the Burrow.
