BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Florida Atlantic University women's soccer team lost a defensive minded contest to Middle Tennessee 1-0 on Friday night.
Neither team was able to consistently maintain possession of the ball as a result of the physical play. The two teams combined for just 15 shots, with only one shot on goal for each side.
The only goal of the night came late in the 55th minute, when Emily Jorgenson found Grace Summers in the middle of the goal box and Summers was able to beat Courtney Zwetsch low to the left side of the net.
FAU is now 2-7-3 on the year and 0-1-2 in Conference USA matches, while Middle Tennessee improved to 5-4-1 and 2-1-0 in league play.
