Ricky Santiago Named Valley Summer Collegiate League All-Star

Boca Raton, FL - Florida Atlantic University baseball player Ricky Santiago has followed his productive freshman season with an all-star quality performance in this summer's Valley Summer Collegiate League. He will play for the South team in the league's all-star game on Sunday, July 8, at Bing Crosby Stadium in Front Royal, Va.
Playing for the Staunton (Va.) Braves, the rising sophomore infielder from Pembroke Pines is hitting .306 with two home runs, 20 runs batted in, six doubles and scored 18 runs in the wood bat league.
As a freshman, Santiago started 23 of 32 games at second base or shortstop. He helped the Owls capture their second Sun Belt Conference regular-season championship in the last three seasons with a 32-22 record and 19-8 mark in league play.
