SAN FRANCISCO, CA - Former FAU golfer Steve LeBrun's two-round total of 148 put him a shot ahead of the cut line, and moves him into this weekend's final two rounds of the US Open Golf Championship.
LeBrun shot a 3-over par 73 on Thursday and a 75 on Friday. He began the second round on hole #9. As it turned out, his birdie on the par-3 8th hole, his final hole of the day, was what allowed him to continue play throughout the weekend.
The FAU Athletics hall of famer tees off on Saturday at 12:35 p.m. Eastern Time, along with Matthew Baldwin. The leaders heading into the weekend, all at 1-under-par, are Tiger Woods, Jim Furyk and David Toms.
The final round at the Olympic Club is on Sunday.
