Softball Falls to North Texas 9-1

DENTON, TX - The Florida Atlantic softball team lost the rubber match of its series with North Texas 9-1 in five innings on Saturday.

North Texas took a quick 2-0 lead in the first inning on back-to-back RBI doubles. Jordan Stovall cut the lead in half in the top of the second with her second solo homerun of the weekend. The decisive inning came in the fourth when the Mean Green scored seven runs on four hits and an FAU fielding error.

Carly Speerin went 2-for-3 on the game.

The Owls will host Troy in a three-game series, starting with a doubleheader on Saturday at 6 p.m. Live stats and audio of the game will be available at www.fausports.com.
